Brian D Estes for Fire Commissioner

Endorsed by Local 726, Graham Professional Firefighters

My Story

Greetings,

I am running for the Office of Fire Commissioner Position #1, Graham Fire & Rescue, Graham, WA. Election year 2023. I am ecstatic to be endorsed by the men and woman of the (IAFF) Local 726, Graham Professional Firefighters.

I am excited to step up to this challenge. After 30+ professional years in the Fire department and much community service, I believe I have the qualifications to represent our great citizens. Moving forward, we can see much more change coming into the Pierce County area as a whole; this will entail my going to work for friends, business owners, family, home owners, neighbors and such to see your tax dollars are spent wisely and appropriately. Public Safety is paramount and you deserve to have the best, well-trained, fastest and brightest resources responding to your ever changing needs.

Over the last 3 decades I have climbed to the rank of Fire Officer and will retire in early 2024 to focus on this new endeavor. I have been fortunate to have worked in many exciting roles with many amazing people: PCSORT/Technical Rescue team member, FEMA, WA TF-1, team member, UASI team member AOBD, Air Ops Branch Director. I have deployed in numerous roles and worked side by side with law enforcement, state and federal government, military and other fire departments at such prestigious events as the four fallen/slain Lakewood PD Officers, OSO mud slide, fallen/slain Park Ranger Mt Rainier, I-5 bridge collapse and the Rattlesnake Ridge incident to name a few.

I was a professional Fire Academy Instructor for Bates for many years and single handedly started and ran the first Voc. Tech. state accredited, dual articulation high school to college Fire Service program. With the help of dedicated staff, we quickly spread to 3 local area high schools. This program now housed today at the Pierce County Skills Center. Kids are our future and deserve to have choices, support and guidance.

I have been a coach, instructor, mentor, friend and community liaison and have taught CPR/First Aid/emergency preparedness for 25+ years at local area hospitals and fire departments. I have been a board member and played numerous roles in the Graham "Country HOA" currently as Security Liaison.

My background includes thousands of state, county and federal accredited training hours, classes and seminars from around the country. My formal education and degrees range from Fire Command, Fire Science and Emergency Mgmt. I am fortunate to have many great friends, family and an amazing support network. Here's to tackling the next chapter of life, so those who work so hard can be assured their hard earned money gets the best bang for the buck. As always your concerns, feedback and comments are always welcome.

Cheers my friends, thank you in advance for your support.
